Mountain Biking in Lory State Park

My mountain bike I bought after moving to Colorado. It has a steel frame and 29-inch wheels. The lack of suspension in the rear helps keep maintenance simple. There is only one chainring in the front and there are 12 gears in the back that help cover all types of terrain. Hydraulic disc brakes makes the bike stop quickly and predictably.
Looking back at the valley. It makes for great sections of riding downhill.
Arthur’s Rock is in the middle of the photo. Susan and I climbed to the top of this on a different hike.
Horsetooth Reservoir has lots of little coves that people can drive their boats into or swim. In the distance you can see Fort Collins, as it spans into the plains to the East. which is about 500 feet below the reservoir.
